INTRODUCTION
Returning on the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May, one of Preston’s longest-running Caribbean cultural events with roots spanning more than 50 years Preston Caribbean Carnival brings its vibrant mix of colour, culture and community spirit to 2026. The carnival promotes appreciation and understanding of Caribbean culture across Preston and the wider UK, uniting soca, reggae, steelpan and mas in a lively celebration of Caribbean heritage.
WHEN AND WHERE
Preston Caribbean Carnival 2026 takes place on Sunday 24 May, centred around Moor Park and the surrounding streets. Events run from 2pm to 8pm, with the main parade winding through the city before culminating in the park for an afternoon and evening of music, mas and after‑party vibes.
FEATURES
Expect a high-energy parade of masqueraders in elaborate costumes, backed by thumping soca trucks and steel bands. This year’s line-up features Grenadian soca artist Skinny Banton, alongside DJs, live performers and cultural showcases, plus Caribbean food stalls serving crowd favourites.
HOW TO GET THERE
Preston is easily accessible by rail from major UK cities. Moor Park is a short taxi or bus ride from Preston station. Drivers can reach the city via the M6, M61 and M65, but should allow extra time due to road closures and limited parking.
