Tube and rail strikes timed to hit Windrush Day events

|

Travel to many Windrush Day events across London and the rest of the UK will be disrupted by strikes on the Tube and national rail networks.

Union action starts on Tuesday 21 June. Transport for London (TfL) advises against using the Tube, TfL Overground or mainline rail services that day. Unions have planned the supposedly one-day stoppage to ensure it disrupts Wednesday’s services as well.

National Rail services will be hit by further strikes on Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 June (but also affecting 24 and 26 June), and on these days TfL Overground and the new Elizabeth Line will be affected too. Alternatives such as buses and trams are expected to be very busy.

If you intend to use public transport to reach events between 21 and 26 June, be sure to check TfL’s Journey Planner and, if appropriate, mainline train operators’ websites.
