Watford is busy planning what its organiser claims will be the Hertfordshire town’s first-ever carnival.

The Watford Cultural and Musical Carnival is set to take place on Saturday 30 July 2022, with activities running from 10am onwards at the Radlett Road Playing Fields, Watford WD24 4LH. The playing fields are a short walk from Watford Junction mainline station.

An after-party will keep the carnival vibes going until 3am at the Twin Flame, 46 The Parade, Watford WD17 1AY.

Events management company Mojo Fusion, run by Jomo Oparah, is behind the plan. It hopes to persuade Watford Borough Council to approve a street parade in addition to the park activities. Oparah said that the event will promote the diverse cultural heritage of the town and provide a fun day out for all the family.

The full line-up of acts and performers will be announced later. In the meantime, for more information or to find out how to take part, call Jomo Oparah on 07502 834 000.
