Every summer, the best chefs in the twin-island state of St. Kitts and Nevis convene for a week-long celebration of local cuisine, using their culinary expertise to get the best out of the freshest homegrown ingredients.
Restaurant Week allows visitors and locals to indulge in a range of delicious dishes, from traditional seafood platters and spicy curries to fusion cuisine and contemporary twists on local ingredients. Each participating restaurant will offer a three-course menu for lunch and dinner.
The event is not just about showcasing the islands’ culinary talent but also promotes sustainable practices and local agriculture. Many of the restaurants will feature locally sourced ingredients, from fresh seafood caught by local fishermen to organic produce grown by farmers on the islands. Visitors can learn more about the island’s culinary culture and support local businesses by participating in farm tours, cooking classes and other food-related activities.
This is the eighth annual Restaurant Week and this year the featured ingredient in participating restaurants’ curated menus is pineapple. Those who only know the fruit from syrupy lumps in tins or the acidic examples found in British supermarkets will be in for a very tasty surprise!
St. Kitts and Nevis Restaurant Week takes place from Thursday 13 to Sunday 23 July.
