About Carnival
Vincy Mas is a vibrant celebration of Vincentian heritage, drawing thousands of tourists each year. The festivities enliven towns with energetic street parties, captivating calypso and steel pan performances, dazzling costume parades, and much more.
Originally held in the days leading up to Lent, like many other Caribbean and Latin American carnivals, Vincy Mas shifted its timing in 1977. Its origins date back to the 18th century, blending European carnival traditions with African cultural and religious practices introduced by freed slaves.
The festival reaches its peak during its final two days on carnival Monday and Tuesday.
